Fenway the Gay Way

Updated: May 27, 2022

Gotta love Fenway Park for an engagement session!!!

When Becca and Heather got engaged, the Red Sox had just won the World Series. Heather's a huge sports fan. They came up with this super fun idea of using Fenway Park as the backdrop to their engagement session.

Rainbow Wedding Network Expo

“Actually they say their daughter found me....she liked the Hershey's kisses I had at my table and told her moms they HAD to come meet me.”

This awesome couple found me at a gay wedding expo. Actually they say their daughter found me....she liked the Hershey's kisses I had at my table and told her moms they HAD to come meet me. I am SO GLAD they did, because this was the beginning of a wonderful friendship and many photo sessions.

As a general rule, I can't stand wedding expos. But Rainbow Wedding Network's Expos were a good fit because they gave LGBTQ+ couples a chance to see that I've photographed weddings celebrating our community for many years. It also gave couples a chance to meet me right away, and get a read on the kind of person I am, how I interact with people and have fun together.

Heather and Becca and Pat and I all hit it off right off the bat. We found out that we have very similar engagement stories. Both included a dropping of a ring, believe it or not!!!!

Bring your full self to your session

Becca was all about bringing her full self to her engagement session. She had recently shaved her head and wanted to rock her short-short hairstyle. She also loves to play with accessories! Her adorable red felt hat with felt flower was so playful. Red patent leather heals brought the sass.

Up for anything

“They adore each other and have exactly zero reservations about showing their love on a public street. ”

Heather and Becca were truly up for anything. They adore each other and have exactly zero reservations about showing their love on a public street. This meant we could play together and be creative. We were laughing a ton. And they were kissing a ton!

Outside the box inspiration

Heather and Becca are a fantastic example of a couple that chose their engagement session to be a reflection of who they are as a couple. They are strong women who do life their way. They wanted their engagement session to be outside the box and showcase who they are.

When I say we had fun at this session, I mean we laughed so much, felt so much love, and got so close that I offered them a ride back to their car which they'd parked outside the city. The car ride cemented it. We were friends.
